The Board of Primus Collegium 2018
The president is responsible for inviting members to meetings and ensuring the agenda of the meetings is followed, while also controlling the turns to speak at meetings. The president makes sure that the rules of the association and the Associations Act are followed. The president is in contact with the university actors and other interest groups. An important task of the president is to delegate assignments that need to be done, keep it all together, and in the end make sure the decisions made by the Board are put into effect. The president is responsible for the big picture, supervising and supporting the tasks of different Board Members.
The main task of the vice president is to help the president when he/she needs help, and to do the tasks of the president if they are unavailable. The vice president also helps other board members when they need help. The vice president is responsible for all the alumni related things; for example being in contact with them.
The main duty of the secretary is to keep track about meetings and write down the proceedings and make sure there is a record about all important notes. Other duties consist mainly participating in meetings and helping others if needed.
Treasurer is responsible for the finances of Primus. So the main tasks are to take care of the bank account and make sure that all payments are done within the due date. The treasurer also supports the event organizer with the budget in different events. Accounting also lays on the shoulders of treasurer. But you don’t need any previous experience regarding these matters, because everything is taught to you. As a treasurer, it helps if you are systematic.
The main tasks of the corporate relations representative are creating connections, excursions and sponsorships. The representative connects the students and the university with different organizations and companies, to establish networks and opportunities for both parties. The representative organizes excursions to law firms, companies with legal department, government offices, etc., where the students can become acquainted with the work and environment of each different company or firm, which is essential know-how to a future lawyer. The representative also locates, corresponds and maintains sponsorships of Primus Collegium.
The marketing representative takes care of our social media, official website and also represents the school and Primus Collegium at events among many other things. Some of the other tasks involve promoting Primus at networking events, and trying to come up with new ways of making Primus Collegium more visible to the legal community.
The tasks of the event organizer are mainly to plan and organize various types of events, for example the annual Primus Gala and other such social events. Hence, the main qualities of an event organizer are ability to stick to a budget, willingness to run necessary errands, responsibility and some social media skills. Attendance at the events is also recommended.
